We always will notify anyone on our waiting list that we have an expected litter. However, we will only announce a litter publicly as we approach the expected due date. We will post available puppies individually identified as their mothers litter and as a letter; i.e Puppy A etc. They will be posted on our Facebook page, our website under available puppies and in different Pug Groups.
Yes. We do offer a paid waiting list. It is by deposit only and is contracted. You can see an example and read more on our wait list tab or you can contact us for more information.
All of our puppies go to their forever homes with all their first shots and a bag we send with them. To break this down further:
We send them home with:
Puppies also have health guarantee until next required vet visit. We go into that more under the Health Guarantee tab.
We set up pick ups with our buyers after puppies are 6 weeks old and have been cleared by our vet. We will send out messages the day we plan to take puppies to the vet and send messages after the appointment that they are clear to go home.
For buyers that are more local to us (under a hour away) we do allow pick up same day. For buyers that are farther away we hold puppies for 24 hours after shots to be sure there are no adverse reactions. We can't pick up farther away puppies to get them to a vet if they have a bad reaction to shots so we hold them to monitor.
We do not. Because we do not allow puppies outside we do not work on potty training. We do however use puppy pads and have found that puppies are more likely to use the pads when in their new homes.
We would recommend giving one cup of food in a bowl at feeding time and base it off of that feeding. We feed all puppies at one time so it is hard to say specifically what each puppy eats individually. However, one cup should be perfect or we recommend consulting your vet.
Yes. We back our puppies health 100%. We will cover any medical costs that arise due to negligence in our care up to their next required vet visit.
We go in depth about this under our health guarantee tab or we are happy to discuss if contacted.
No. We do not paper our puppies because we do not show them. Buyers however are always able to paper puppies if desired.
Unfortunately, we no longer will take in rescues we do not know because of the risks it poses to our other puppies and Pugs. We are always happy to direct anyone to a possible Pug Rescue in your area. We do however always offer to take back in our own puppies or assist in re-homing.
This surgery is purely elective by the buyers. Not all vets will recommend it for a Pug but there are a handful that do. It is a cosmetic surgery much like docking ears and tails but is not required. We always recommend that buyers get a second opinion before making a decision.
We were told when our first Pug Molly was just a puppy that if she didn't have the surgery she would end up with heart problems and not live past the age of 6. I got a second opinion and learned that it was a cosmetic surgery. Molly is an ox, never had the surgery and is pushing 11 years old today.
Puppies bite, some more than others but it is not something you can avoid. Having plenty of chew toys and firm reinforcement will help train them not to bite you and rather their toys.
This is a very common question we hear. There is no right way to answer that. Much like we are all different as people puppies come in all different colors and sizes. No two puppies in one litter will grow to be the same. Our largest Pug is almost 30 pounds where our smallest is under 15. But on average Pugs range between 15 and 20 pounds.
Again this also varies. We have had puppies of the same color grow up and one will have lightened in the fawn color and the other hasn't. Puppies do however lighten in color from day of birth until 6 weeks old and can continue to lighten as they grow to full adulthood.
Our deposits are always included in the total of our puppies never extra. Deposits are paid to hold puppies after puppies are a week old. The remaining balance is paid at pick up.
For Example:
Total puppy: $800
Deposit paid: $250
Due at pick up: $550
If there is a wait list deposit
Total puppy: $800
Wait list deposit: $150
Remaining deposit @ birth: $100
Due at pick up: $550
Deposits ensure that buyers get the puppy from the litter they are wanting and it ensures us as the seller that our puppies will have homes and our buyers are serious.
No. This ensures our buyers are serious and wont change their mind last minute.
Under very extreme circumstances and something happens to a puppy we will refund deposits or offer another puppy.
Yes. We will meet buyers half way to drop puppies depending on distance. We just ask that this is discussed with us at time of deposit.
For buyers over 12 hours round trip away we do charge to meet depending on distance. This must be discussed at time of deposit and all meeting plans be solidified no less than 3 weeks before puppy is 6 weeks of age.
In most cases puppies would have to be 10 weeks or older for long distance travel, especially when flying.
No. We do not support the shipping of animals. Buyers are welcome to use a service that picks up and delivers their puppy however, because we cannot guarantee how puppy is cared for we will not be able to offer our health guarantee for that puppy.
Yes. Buyers are always welcome into our home to meet babies when placing their deposits and at pick up. We prefer it over every other interaction. Please do just understand that in the first two weeks of life we do try to limit this interaction but are always happy to let people see the puppies just not hold them before 2 weeks,
Yes of course. We send regular updates as puppies grow. These updates will include when their eyes open and they become more active. We try to send pictures as much as we can but we also ask buyers to remember that we do have kids of our own and may not always be able to send updates everyday. Buyers are always welcome to just ask if they want an update.
Yes. When puppies begin to ween they have more interactions with our other pugs and our children.
Yes we do. We offer a contracted stud service with all of our males. We either do cost of puppy or pick of the litter. We require the female to come to our home whether it be for the day or a span of days to properly tie with our male. For more information please see our prices page or you can contact us for more information?
We begin weening puppies from mom and introduce wet food when puppies are between 3 and 4 weeks old. Our goal is to have puppies fully weened and ready to start dry food around 5 weeks. Puppies will be on a fully dry food diet before they leave home.
In between puppies 1st week and second week of age puppies ears will fully open. Their eyes are usually fully open between 2 weeks and 3 weeks of age.
